I will have to check out the Uncanny podcast.

Credit for identifying the need for a General Topic Joe podcast goes to Chuck and Greg. It was their idea to do a Joe only podcast. Chuck said there was a need and the numbers don't lie, people are listening, and listening on a regular basis. It also helps to have the reputation of someone like Justin's attached to the show.

Its ok that people don't like podcasts. If they are like me, generally, the assumption of most podcasts are bad. I mean who wants to hear a couple of talking heads yap and yap on for over 2 hours about a topic that they probably not authoritative on? I remember when I was a kid and I got my first tape recorder and started recording my ramblings. Sure, it is interesting to me, because its me, but who the hell wants to listen to it? It is weeding out the bad podcasts to find the Fwooshcasts, Star Joes, and GI Joe Reviews of the world. Those three are good examples of people who know their topic, do their research and work on the production value of the show - great podcasts to start off with.

I am sure we'll see more from the Review guys soon. They still have plenty of issues to go over!

A few things:

1) The animated movie is AWESOME!!!!! COBRA LALALALALALALALALALALA!!!!!!!!

2) Also the Joe movie was done before the TF movie but because Transformers was more popular it was released first. The poor returns and out cry over the death of Optimus Prime led to the Joe movie being shown on TV and direct to VHS with Duke NOT dying.

1. Fully agree with ya!

2. Here's a little bit more info about it in an interview with Buzz Dixion on www.Joeguide.com

Quote:
DT: When were you informed that G.I.Joe: The Movie was not going to be released to the movie theaters but going directly to video and aired on TV in a miniseries format?

BD: We got one theatrical screening at that year’s San Diego Comic Con but that was it. As I recall, the deal with Dino DeLaurentiis came apart because Dino was supposed to book Transformers for four shows a day on weekends and instead booked it for only three. Everybody later agreed the films should have been released in reverse order, with G.I.Joe: The Movie hitting theaters first, then Transformers, then My Little Pony. When My Little Pony could only sell three matinees a day, DeLaurentiis cut back on Transformers. Then there was the whole "Optimus Prime is dead" business which was purely wrong for Transformers (but not for G.I.Joe where the idea of death was much more central to what the Joes were, even if we never actually showed anybody dead on camera). So the whole thing fizzled out when they couldn’t find another distributor.

I was bitterly disappointed then, but have learned to be philosophical about it.

Also, I just noticed on the preview about it, it's listed as: (Will be posted late Friday/Early Tuesday)

Typo? or will we be waiting till early Tuesday? :D

Yeah, so much that I had planned didn't come to fruition. The pre-ordering that the CJC did really shortened the line the night before. We did do a 15 minute segment from the line which was pretty funny. We'll have that posted up soon. The recordings during the show are done, but they are on Scramble's HDD because we used his equipment. He will be getting those to me soon.

Cool show, really sounded like fun (Especially the 4am inquisition :) )

I liked the Tristan Rudat interview, makes me even more anxious for my DVD to arrive
