I'll most likely pass on CC. There's just nothing new there idea-wise. The Trooper I will eventually build a squad of four, but that's probably it for them, too.

Yeah, not a big fan of Cobra Commander, though I appreciate them trying to get that Jungle Assault tooling out there. Gary, your pictures do that figure more justice than it deserves!

That Cobra Trooper is sick. Really sick. I'm not a big fan of just doing rehashes of existing figures, but damn, using that Shock Trooper tooling in these colors is truly awesome, and I love how well it integrates with the Viper. You can really see that the same guy might be wearing both uniforms, with just some equipment changes. It makes a world of difference.

I would have loved to have seen some better weapons for the Trooper, but the figure itself is truly awesome.

Exactly what I was thinking. They look just awesome together. I hope they're available enough for me to get at least 4 of each.

Of the 12 or so different style blue shirts that have been released this one sits on the summit of Mt Hawtness.

I want to take all my 30 - 25th Anni soldiers, melt them down and send the raw materials to Hasbro in the hopes they can make me 2 of the wave 5 renditions. I mentioned this on another board but my biggest gripe about POC is that it makes the figures from just 4 short years ago seem so infantile. POC Low Light standing next to some of the older designs is a joke. They don't even look like they're part of the same universe. It's amazing how far the Hasbro design team has come.

(I know, that doesn't sound like much of gripe... and what's your point mongaloid?) Well it isn't, and I'm getting to it... I'd love to see more characters get the same treatment that the Cobra Trooper got. I have no problem at all buying previously released figures if they are done this incredibly. I know some others may groan at that prospect, but gimme repaints and kit bashes galore if the Cobra Trooper is indicative of what the Hasbro design team can do today when releasing a figure that's been done numerous times. I guess I should have learned that lesson from SE V.54

Amazing pics Gyre, as always thank you so much for sharing these!

I understand these two waves are basically filler to get us to the real "new" stuff, but that CC wasn't even worth the plastic used to make it IMO, even if you aren't a hardcore fan he's not that interesting looking, but if you are a hardcore fan (like I assume all of us here are) then all I can see when looking at that is a reused head, cape from comic pack, and 3 random accessories from the DVD battle packs, and the cancelled RoC chest/arms (which looked better the first time).

The trooper, while also all reused parts, is still a pretty nice looking figure, and it for someone like myself who doesn't troop build it's pretty cool to get him to go along with the 25th versions, the DVD packs, and the senior ranking officers pack, to help fill up my trooper ranks.

It's a shame wave 5 and 6 are so hit or miss, because with retail sales being what they are they really needed to knock it off of the park with these, to follow up with the success of the previous 4 waves.

HAHAHA! You sound like a Star Wars collector. I've learned to accept, how shall we say, diversity on my shelves with the current quality of product mixed with stuff dating back to the POTF2 era. Oddly enough it doesn't aggravate my OCD. But I also mix ARAH molds and "new" molds and I'll pose POC Lowlight next to an ARAH mold any day. :P

I have to give Hasbro credit for that trooper. I'm honestly not sure exactly how many 25th COBRA soldiers and officers I have but I'm guessing all together the number pushes 100. I never thought they'd get me to buy more than 2-4 of any others they made but I will have a difficult time not buying every one of those I see. They really are gorgeous. Glorious, glorious, glorious!!!

And I like the COBRA Commander! I think my lazy partswapping fetish helps me to have an open mind but I see all sorts of possibilities with that body! The legs don't look very magnificent on that torso but with some thicker gams his presentation might be improved considerably. And of all things, I'm most excited about that yellow cobra staff 'cause I think it'll be perfect for my V2 Serpentor (my favorite Serpentor) who is currently weaponless.
