So my new obsession is my Voltar collection.

Not a lot of items featuring him, and one egregiously expensive one (MOC Ultimate Enemies). Still...gonna be glorious!

I've got that puzzle on the way, also a MOC Action Force Voltar, and a mint complete loose one (that's actually Mestre Rapina in the pic). I also want to score American and Canadian MOC samples. As for other products, Voltar only appears on the package art of a couple of things: The Accessory Set #6 (COBRA Battle Gear) and the Rocket Sled/Gyrocopter which I'm also hunting down. A friend of mine also is sending me some GIJOE card that he's on.

The helmet is part of my costume I wore at Joecon. I commissioned it last year from Pit Viper Studios. The condor was also part of the costume. The letters I got at Hobby Lobby. Those are Itso cubes from Target. Seeing them on sale and the fuchsia and black is sort of what inspired this. That's a Convention Iron Anvil parachute framed for the Destro symbol.

I made the custom Dominator as well.

TOMAX and XAMOT would make a sweet specific shelf, too! All mirrored shelves!

Anybody else have a character-specific collection/shelf? I've had quite a bit of satisfaction assembling this so far.

*looks around for Peter*

Yeah, I know we got a guy around here somewhere. I'll let him tell you all about it, though.

Not quite to the level you have taken Voltar, but I have made it a point to get a carded and loose example of Frag-Viper and Toxo-Zombie. The only other thing similar would be my Red Shadows collection where I've lined up varsions of characters like the Black Major (Original, Convention O-ring, Oring style custom, 25th Custom)

I also have a Soundwave collection but it's not fully displayed

What drew you to Voltar BTW?

The Voltar thing began when I knew I wanted to attend Joecon 2011 as an Iron Grenadier character and, well, Voltar was ideal. I sort of resemble the character plus it seemed a fun challenge as well as something no one else had done yet.

I have to credit Lenvil King at Pit Viper Studios, though. I'd never have moved forward with the plan if they hadn't made the helmet. But since I had such fun at Joecon with the Voltar outfit I now have become obsessed with the character...at least 'til I move on to something else. :)

And that thing you did with Black Major is sort of my idea for Voltar. Though there are only two official versions of him that I'm aware of: The regular one and Mestre Rapina which has somewhat different colors.

Maybe Hasbro will re-visit him soon. I'm not holding my breath, though. :)

Well there's only two official Black Majors too, Sounds like you need to make a Voltar. It's like lightsabers, you're never fully a Jedi till you make your own :D

I do have to say though, they idea of dressing up like Joe characters without changing your facial hair has me looking at costumes I wouldn't normally look at now (so few people with goatees)

Mike (Beach) was right, Pete will dig the heck out of this.

I've got a pretty crazy Wet-Suit/Torpedo collection going (for all the obvious reasons).

I have an accidental modern era Snake-Eyes first shot collection.

I mean recently I've just started buying any I come across because it makes sense to. But I don't have an affinity for Snake-Eyes; I never set out to collect Snake-Eyes in the beginning. It's just that someone always has a Snake-Eyes for sale. Which of course is no surprise considering how many versions of this figure exist throughout time and space.

Focusing a collection on a specific character is great way enjoy collecting 'Joes. That Voltar focus is so damn awesome, Barefoot Jedi! I love character collections. I was inspired by a Star Wars collector named Bill McBride, who has the foremost Darth Vader collection I know of. Character collecting for some reason seems to be bigger with vintage (& newer) Star Wars collectors. It's great to see it going on with Gijoe. A lot of guys here have great runs on certain characters.

As Mike & Sam indicated, Destro is the focus of my collection. I always liked Destro. And collecting Destro items (primarily Destro V1, V2, V3 & V4) became my passion. Eventually because of it, I started ProjectPDD.com about the history of the infamous Pimp Daddy Destro. Much of my collection is stored away, but I took a few pics of what I have on display (mostly production items).

I have more items like preproduction artwork & patterns, but those are stored away as well. The Destro items come in in drips these days unfortunately, as the items I still need are few & far between (and in some cases just speculation). Enjoy.

I am moved to tears.

Destro's always been my favorite GIJOE character...that's a collection of dreams!!!

Utterly amazing. I am floored. Literally. Like I have carpet burn.

I had to come back and gush some more: This should be on the front page of every GIJOE site in existence. There should be pics of your collection in the Destro section of yojoe.com.

You need to track down that childhood Destro Halloween costume with the plastic V1-style mask! I actually had one of those as a child!
