At some point, we'll do some more in-depth looks at these, but I was trying out the camera and decided to share. A lot of the examples below are difference in figures between American and foreign counterparts that can be hard to differentiate with the available online photos. I took some of each with and without flash to hopefully highlight color differences. Let me know what you guys think, and if you have any requests!

Flash: Argentinian, American

Grunt: American, Mexican (Vagabundo), Brazilian (Front)

Rock & Roll: Brazilian (Gladion), American

Many more to come...

Rampage and Heavy Metal: (note: Rampage is identical to the Brazilian Ponta-De-Lanca)

Notice the difference especially in the greens.

Recondo: These first 3 aren't foreign, but rather 3 American variants. Pay attention to the greens/brown on the pants, as well as the wrist watch.

Now, with Brazilian Leopardo thrown in on the left:

Sgto. Slaughter (Argentina) and Sgt. Slaughter (US):

Tiger Force Duke (US) and Duque (Brazil):

Again, notice the difference in the green shades, and the arm cuffs:

Sci-Fi: Brazilian and American. Hopefully, you can see the difference in the photos. The Brazilian figure is definitely a richer shade of green compared to the paler American version.

Great pics! Hopefully no one minds me hijacking the thread to ask a foreign Joe question:

The Funskool Darklon Evader came with a bonus figure. According to YoJoe! it was random. I guess what I'm curious about is how 'random' was the figure? Was it just a couple of different figures they'd use to include in the box set or could it be just about anyone? How cool would it be to open one and find a red Buzzer or red Stalker!

Not even hijacking. The only reason the thread is so pic heavy is because no one else has posted besides me (and now you)...

From my understanding, yes, "random is the most accurate description. I've opened about 15 Funskool vehicles, and I think the only driver I've gotten more than once was Road Pig. That said, there are "rare" drivers - bronze/purple Psyche-Out v2, gold boots Spearhead, etc - but to date, I've never heard of anyone getting anything that we would consider "rare" from the normal line - purple Ripper, Red Stalker, etc.

Maybe Drew has some commentary?

To answer your question on the random vehicle figures, it depends on the date code on the package. Earlier vehicles will have a date code similar to a price sticker that will tell the date the vehicle was produced (later vehicles usually have them printed on). In my experience most vehicles that were produced from 1998-2004 had relatively common figures, with 3 or 4 that could be considered "rare". Those figures are the Spearhead with gold boots, Copper/Purple Psyche Out, Blaster (Green/Orange) and to a lesser extent a Sci Fi wth BOTH hands painted silver.

Some of the earlier vehicles though could yield some nice treasures. I know of one guy who opened a VAMP from India and found a red and yellow Beach Head figure.

I have personally opened about 100 or so vehicles and found a few gems (Yellow Torpedo with different arms, Purple Ripper etc.) but again its completely random :)

Hope this helps! Would have posted some pictures but don't have access to them at the moment.

Very nice comparison pictures.

I had no idea the Mexican Lotomaxx had the silver paint on the back and the green color difference is more drastic than I thought.

Thanks for posting these.
