I was wondering if anyone here may be able to shed some light on a slight mystery I have. I collect GI Joe puzzles because I like the artwork (and they can double as posters) I've run across a few that no one ever lists in any archive and I can never seem to find anyone who knows anything about them.

Sometime before 2007 I picked up a puzzle from ebay with artwork featuring 1985 vehicles. The seller was in Italy.

Then last year (2010) I found this puzzle (I assume from the same batch the above one came from) on ebay, this time the seller was from Honiton, United Kingdom

Image

Both puzzles say they are made in Holland and have both GI Joe and Action Force logos (I assume they were made for the European market)

At the same time I found the above Sea scene puzzle, I also found two more on ebay (Sadly the price and shipping was too much for me to purchase the puzzles, but I saved the ebay pics) One seller was in Belgium and the other was in the Netherlands

UPDATE (Yet again) 7/21/2012

I found another Snow puzzle on ebay and was able to get it. This one came from Epsom, Surrey, United Kingdom

Looking at the serial number this one apparently goes between the Sea & Desert puzzles I already have

Last year I asked the guys over at Blood for the Baron and none of them had seen them before but one of them thought the artwork was the same that was used on some laminated placemats over there.

So my questions are:

Are these the only four?

Does anyone know anything about these?

Also, if anyone has any leads on the other puzzles from this series, I wouldn't mind picking them up

UPDATE:
Thanks to a very generous Secret Santa from the Netherlands, I have two new European GI Joe puzzles to add to the list.
Both of these are dated 1988 and appear to be part of the same series as the 1986 puzzles. The artwork this time is line drawn rather than painted and highlights a vehicle driver going into a battle scene.

Strato-Viper:

Date on the boxes:

While comparing these two with the two 1986 puzzles I have, I noticed that there is a series number on all of these puzzles ranging from 3100.20 – 3100.25 There are two numbers missing from the ones I have to make a full run. I assume the two I mentioned previously that I never bought would have these missing numbers

So should I assume either:

A. I AM the foremost expert on these puzzles

B. No one really cares about puzzles

C. Dmoore hasn't seen this thread :D

Those are pretty cool. Reminds me of the covers to the old catalogs that came with the vehicles.

Great contribution friend, the truth is that these puzzles are great.
Here in Spain, I have not seen, but it sounds to see some cubes puzzle boxes

I really like the drawings are amazing!

Greetings :geek:

I'll take A. Not that no one cares, but I don't know many other people who have put that much thought into it. But hey, I could be wrong. Til I joined Clam's site I thought I was the only guy in the world who collected Remco Joes :D

I think with the puzzels there is a bit of "hit or miss" with general community. I enjoyed a few of them when I was a kid. And I have one now, but the ones you have here are new to me.

Thanks for sharing. I remember Joe puzzles as a kid. Now I ask myself, "Why didn't I keep them!?"

Every area of Joe needs an expert. ;) That is what is great about Declassified. Some are experts on art. Some are experts on two ups. Others are experts on comics. Nothing wrong with puzzles. There was SO much licensing going on in the day, it is next to impossible remember info on everything. It works well in a shared collective such as this community. :)

Scott, you are the expert on the obscure. Who do I call when I have questions about toys I don't normally deal with? Who's the guy that wants all the parts and pieces to toys we cannot even identify? Which reminds me. Tracy forgot to get that bag of parts for you. I need to get those to you.

As for the current topic, I dub you "The GI Joe Puzzel Czar"!
