So I was looking over all my Vamps today and realised both of my 1982 Vamps have completely different mold numbers on all of the parts (at least all of the parts I had to compare, one is more complete than the other) Is this already documented? Is it a case of mail away version versus retail?

Vamp A:
Chassis - M-3250-A (Large A in the Trunk area also)
Body - M-3251-A (Large A under the Hood area also)
Rollcage - M-3304 1-1-A
Dashboard - M-3253-1-3-A
Gas Can Basket - M-3252 1-3-A


Vamp B:
Chassis - M-3311-B (Large B in the Trunk area also)
Body - M-3312-B (Large B under the Hood area also)
Rollcage - M-3317 1-1-B
Dashboard - M-3314-1-1-B
Gas Can Basket - M-3313 5-4-B

Yes this has been documented. The Vamp wasn't offered as a mail away item in the US .

Like the Mauler, Skystriker, and Whale the mold numbers have a linage that can be followed in their international counterparts.

I kinda figured it was already documented but I've never heard of two different numbers so I wasn't sure. Any reason for the two different mold numbers?
