It is interesting how he did not sculpt the other lower left leg since it was going to be the same as the lower right leg. I also think it is interesting that he did sculpt both sets of upper arms, since they could have been the same and they look so similar.

Maybe the rivet holes are a different size on the front than on the back thus making the necessity for two seperate sculpted arms?

I would really like to see the pantograph used to size these down.

Great piece, Gyre.

that right thigh looks different from the test shot figure you have pictured next to it. did the mold change? or did the convention figure that that is end up using different legs? i've not gotten a convention set since Major Storm and Falcon. i couldn't handle the skin color anymore, so i'm a little out of the loop by that point in the game.

are there any other differences in the mold that can't be seen through photos?

The Convention Black Dragon Trooper used the Legs from a Star Viper.

That is simply awesome. So cool to get to see something like this in such detail. Obviously without being too specific, but just for my own curiosity, did this come from someone in Asia, or is this from another US collector. As it's quite rare to see something from that early in the line, in it's original form show up nowadays. Haven't seen any 2ups from that time period in probably close to a decade.

Depending on the year Bill did it it would either be sculpted in Plumber Seal Epoxy or a 2 part Epoxy with Bigg's ANB putty.
