The Rules: 1) The members and staff of Joe Declassified do not owe you anything. This site is privately owned and primarily funded by friendly donors. We are not a government institution, and as such, the Bill of Rights does not apply. If you behave like a churlish child, your account will be dismissed, and we are under no obligations to ensure your satisfaction. I hope none of this is necessary to elaborate upon.
2) Be respectful. This site is not intended to be of one thought and one opinion. Disagree, but keep it respectful. Argue, but avoid personal attacks. This isn't hard folks. Respect on this board and in this community is earned and deserved. Other collectors that have come before you have paved the way for much of the information we all now take for granted. You may not know them all by name, but they have paid their dues, and will be accorded courtesy. Respect your elders.
3) Any and all posts made under your identity are your responsibility. Pleading ignorance is no excuse. You will be accountable.
4) Duplicate accounts. You will NOT have duplicate accounts, so don't ask.
5) Feel free to discuss anything on this board, in the appropriate area. Be prepared to have others who disagree with you call you out on it.
6) No porn. No images, no links, no nothing. Go to the appropriate sites for that crap. If it could be considered "Not safe for work" by a large percentage of the population, then it does not belong here. If you believe it falls under these guideline, but remains toy/Joe related, run it by the staff first, and ensure proper warnings are posted.
7) Profiles and introductions. In order to aid with eliminating bots and spammers from legit users, as well as fostering a better sense of community, this site requires filled out profiles and threads in the introduction thread. Introductions need not be overly lengthy, but should follow the format established by those tho have already introduced themselves. I and the other staff will occasionally purge accounts that appear to be spam.
8) Spamming. Posts here are a quality vs. quantity issue. There is no first prize or status award for having the most posts. If I detect you spamming the board simply to increase your post count, I will disable your posting ability.
9) Net Feuds. If you bring feuds from other places into our home, you’re gone. Whether it’s a person or a site; community related or personal, stow your baggage and don’t bring it here. You don’t have to like everyone, and everyone doesn’t have to like you. That’s just the way the world works, so cope with it. (See Rule 2.) The only thing we will tolerate, are serious matters that effect the whole community—for example, buyers or sellers ripping off customers in a deliberately dishonest or illegal manner. If you do have an outside concern that may seem questionable, PM a staff member first.
The smackdown:
1) Written warning. I (or another member of the staff) inform you via PM that you've behaved like an idiot.
2) Account suspension. This will be for the duration of my (or my staff's) choosing.
3) Banning. I like bannings. They're good for my liver. Don't push it.
Be advised, you can go from 1 to 3 in a single post. Separate incidents are not needed.
